Broadcasting from Manchester, UK

Terms of use

Last updated: 17 September 2026

The short version: our stations and website are free for you to enjoy personally. Please don't rebroadcast our streams or copy our articles without asking, and please enter competitions fairly. These terms explain the details.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use piccadillyradio261.co.uk and listen to our streams. The website and stations are run by Piccadilly Radio 261 Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16761309. By using the site or listening, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Who we are, and who we are not

Piccadilly Radio 261 is an independent, non-profit internet radio station born in Manchester. The name is a tribute to the 261 metres medium wave frequency that meant Manchester radio for a generation.

We are not the original Piccadilly Radio, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Key 103, Hits Radio, Bauer Media Group, or any current or former owner of those stations. Our history articles are independent accounts written by us from published sources, which we list on each article.

Listening to our stations

Our six channels are free to listen to for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment, at home, at work or on the move. You must not:

  • rebroadcast, relay or re-stream our channels, or play them to the public in a business such as a shop, pub or gym. Public playing needs your own music licence.
  • record our streams to share, sell or publish, or extract the music from them.
  • add our stream addresses to other apps, websites or directories without our permission.
  • try to overload, disrupt or get unauthorised access to our streams, website or servers, including with automated tools.

We may block access from any device, network or service that breaks these rules or puts a heavy load on our streams.

Our content

The Piccadilly Radio 261 name and logos, our articles, schedule and show descriptions, and the design of this website belong to us. You are welcome to share links to our pages and to quote a short extract with a link back. Please ask us before reproducing anything more.

Song titles, artist names and album artwork belong to their owners. Photographs used on the site are credited to their photographers and used under their licences.

News headlines from other publishers

Our music headlines are gathered automatically from other newspapers' websites, such as the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Examiner Live and Chronicle Live. The headlines and the full stories belong to those publishers, and each one links to the story on their site. We do not write, check or edit these stories and are not responsible for their content. Some stories may be removed automatically if they are not suitable for a music station.

Competitions

These rules apply to every competition we run, together with any rules shown with a particular competition. If the two disagree, the competition's own rules apply.

  • Entry is free. Entrants must be UK residents aged 18 or over.
  • One entry per person per day unless the competition says otherwise. Entries made in bulk, automatically or through someone else will not count.
  • Each competition explains how to enter and when it closes. Entries received after the closing time will not count.
  • Winners are chosen as the competition describes, for example the first correct answer. Our decision is final.
  • We will contact winners by email within 14 days. If a winner does not reply within 14 days of that email, we may choose another winner.
  • Prizes are as described, with no cash alternative, and cannot be transferred. If a prize becomes unavailable, we may replace it with one of similar or greater value.
  • Prizes are posted to a UK address, usually within 30 days of the winner confirming their details.
  • People who help run Piccadilly Radio 261, and their households, cannot enter.
  • We may cancel or change a competition if something outside our control stops it running fairly. If we do, we will say so on this website.
  • How we handle entrants' details is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, including news publishers, our social media pages and radio directories. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or how they use your information.

Availability and changes

We are a small independent station. We work hard to keep our streams and website running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of errors, and we may change, pause or stop any channel, show or feature at any time.

The information on our site, including our history articles, is provided for general interest. We check it carefully, but if you spot a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.

Our responsibility to you

Our streams and website are free, so we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using them or from not being able to use them, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you use our site as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new features. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version on this page when you use the site is the one that applies.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
